A Cup of Tea, While I Read

Reading is mad boring! I’d rather watch a movie about the book than read it. Thank God I grew out of that! When I was younger, I dread reading and it was pretty bad. I disliked it so much one would think I was in a war with my parents who were only trying to help me (shrugs, now I know). Nowadays I look at reading as an opportunity to getaway, see life through a different set of lenses, and learn. The greatest of them all is the opportunity to grow. I see reading as an investment because there is so much wisdom and knowledge that lies between each page I encounter.

I have so many books I could list, but the most impactful one I’ve read is, “Wait and See: Finding Peace in God’s Pauses and Plans” by Wendy Pope. With only two major qualifications left for me to earn my Warfare pin (in the Navy); and having to juggle an aggressive agenda, this book helped me find peace through the last stretch. The main purpose was for me to focus on the purpose of my faith (Jesus), versus on the subject I am waiting for. Seeing others being awarded their Warfare pin and wondering when will my time arrive was a mini battle. When the day finally came I realized how perfect Gods timing was and still is for me.
